This term Grade 1 have been listening to the sounds around us and making music out of the sounds that we never usually notice. This particular piece, called Sunset Sounds includes the sound of clocks ticking, water dripping and heating systems rumbling.   

How we did it:

• First we listened to many recorded sounds and we had to try and identify them.
• We then collected sounds by listening all round the school and writing down what we could hear.
• We then learned a song called Sunset Sounds, which is about sounds you can hear in the evening.
• We used percussion instruments and worked in groups to create sounds to go with our song.
• Then we recorded ourselves singing the song and playing our sounds.
