"Why me? Why am I the only one?" These two blues songs written by Grade 7 each had to use that line as the first line of their song, but the rest was all up to them. In their unit on blues we spent quite a bit of time looking at the structure of blues songs, the chords, the blues scale and we all learned to play the blues on the guitar.  

To work on their own songs, the class was divided into two groups who each had to write, rehearse and perform a blues song which had to include an improvised solo on either guitar or keyboard.
