As part of their Unit of Inquiry into dance from around the world Reception have been learning about Gota music of Ghana. As well as listening to examples of the music and learning some of the rhythms they have put together their own piece of Gota dance music. Have a listen and turn it up loud...

In addition to learning to keep a steady beat and playing together, they also had to listen to signals on the whistle to change the rhythm and in the central section you will hear them listening to a solo drum and then immediately copying what they hear. And on top of that they had to do it all and dance at the same time!
